We love hearing stories about kids who do special things to help animals!
Some kids find unique ways to care for a special pet in their home, while others come up with great ideas to help their local shelter. Some kids work to raise awareness about endangered species and some kids like to educate others about diseases that affect pets. There are so many great ways to help animals and so many incredible kids on a mission to make a change for the animals in their home, their community or even the entire world!
That’s why we’re looking for stories for our monthly Pawsitive Impact Kids feature. Here’s how it works:
♥ You must be a student in grades K-12 in the United States to be featured.
♥ We are seeking stories of kids who do awesome things to help the pets in their home, their community or anywhere in the world! We want to hear all about the inspiring things that kids are doing so we can share with others!
♥ We will select one kid to feature each month on our site.
♥ Each kid we feature will be able to designate his or her favorite humane society, shelter or rescue to receive a $1,000 cash grant from the Petco Foundation! Plus featured kids will also receive a $100 gift card from Petco as well as a box of other goodies for his or her own pets.
♥We will feature each selected kids’ stories here on this site.
♥ Our editorial board will select one kid’s story each month to highlight. These kids must be in grades K-12 and who are making a difference in the lives of pets and are inspirations to both kids and adults alike.
♥ All selections are at the editorial board’s complete discretion.
How to Submit Your Story or the Story of Someone You Know:
♥ You may tell us about yourself or an inspiring kid you know!
♥ The deadline for telling us a story is the last day of each month at 5:00pm EST.
♥ The kid we feature will be notified by email or phone during the first week of the month.
♥ We will not contact those we do not feature.
♥ We will save submissions throughout the year so just because a kid isn’t selected to be featured in one month, doesn’t mean he won’t be in a future month.
